Details: Malaysian Ministry of Health started traceability practices for pharmaceutical products in 2018. Traceability of pharmaceutical products will be carried out in stages. The Ministry aims to establish a centralized system for full traceability by 2023. Studies are carried out on a system similar to the one in Turkey. In this direction, serialization and aggregation processes are applied for pharmaceutical products in Malaysia, which has adopted GS1 standards. It is anticipated that traceability will be mandatory for all pharmaceutical products by the end of 2027.
