Details: As a result of cooperation between healthcare industry stakeholders, GS1 representatives and government officials, it was decided to use GS1 barcodes for packaging labeling. Approximately 95% of drugs and over-the-counter drugs in Canada are marked with the GS1 GTIN. The projected implementation date of traceability in the pharmaceutical industry has been determined as 2025.
